Pawsitively Pets was founded by Lisa Hartman, a
life long animal lover, pet owner an advocate. A
native New Yorker, Lisa moved from NYC to Florida
following a painful injury, and immediately began to
help animals and "set up shop" in her newly adopted
state. She saw a lack of modern motivational dog
training, and immediately began a campaign to
spread the word that training need not be violent,
and actually is more productive when the dog trusts
you and is motivated to learn. This point has been
proven not only the hundreds of dogs she has
worked with and helped in the shelters and
privately, but from the dogs of her childhood. Lisa
owns and grew up with Dalmatians, a breed thought
to have been stubborn, stupid, crazy and untrainable.
They aren't. They simply were sensitive and smart,
and not only were they not motivated to learn, they
were trying to protect themselves from the trainers
and avoid the harsh corrections!
Lisa's innovative approach and extensive experience
working with challenging dogs and their owners has
made her the "go to girl" on the beach. She appears
regularly on television and in print giving pet advice.
Lisa believes in treating the whole animal, mind and
body. Positive, friendly training, and proactive health
care and nutrition lead to a healthier, less stressful
life for animal and owner alike!
